Indian nationals have expanded their visa-on-arrival travel horizons. Indian nationals with a valid US, UK, or Schengen visa will now be eligible for a visa on arrival across all entry points within the UAE. This remarkable move aims to improve India-UAE relations and welcome more Indians to the UAE for shopping, leisure, and business. UAE continues to top the chart among the Indian citizens
The latest announcement will further simplify the travel requirements for Indian citizens. In February 2023, in collaboration with VFS Global, Emirates Airlines launched a pre-approved visa-on-arrival service for Indian nationals intending to reduce the waiting queue at the UAE border controls.
Further, Dubai authorities introduced a five-year multiple-entry visa for Indian nationals. Many travel enthusiasts feel this move will further enhance business, economic, and tourism ties between the two countries.
The UAE has been on the travel bucket list among several Indians. With these improved and enhanced travel requirements, you can expect more and more Indians 5o travel to the UAE for business, exhibitions, leisure, and tourism. Indian citizens traveling beyond the UAE to other countries, such as the UK or the US, can now stop in the UAE with the simplified process.
Further expanding travel horizons
Indian nationals will now opt between two visas on arrival in the UAE. They should have a valid passport valid for more than six months from their intended departure date. They also need to meet any criteria set for visa issuance for Indian travelers, if applicable. The UAE visa can now be obtained anywhere between 30 minutes to 3 hours at the UAE border controls.
- A 14-day visa can be obtained for AED 120-150 per applicant. It can be further extended for another 14 days with a similar fee.
- A 60-day visa can be obtained for AED 1,100-1,200 per applicant and cannot be further extended under any circumstances.
India tops the charts among foreign travelers flocking to the Dubai shores. Dubai recorded a significant 25% increase compared to the pre-pandemic levels last year, where overnight stays touched 2.46 million. In February 2023, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism published a report reaffirming India’s status as the market leader in Dubai tourism.
